We love a good mural- it’s an opportunity to add another layer of customization to your space that other wall coverings just can’t hold a candle to.
Spruce Interiors is operated by trained artists that understand scale, composition, and color. It’s fun for us to flex our art school knowledge, but most exciting is the chance to collaborate with you to achieve that bespoke look that no one else will have.
Spruce Interiors will design a mural based on our conversations, photos/art for inspiration, or color schemes you are drawn to. We can match any style from abstract to realism- just ask!

I see you. With that stack of color swatches slowly growing as you hunt for the perfect color. Maybe you have little squares of paint scattered on the walls of your home, and not for art’s sake or a mural in progress! Color can be elusive; what appears one way on a tiny piece of paper will look totally different on your walls. And color is really the foundation for any room- it grounds the space and surrounds every inch of art, lighting and textiles to give off the “feel” of a room. No pressure, right?!
Spruce Interiors is run by artists; we’re trained in color theory and can walk your through the process of how a color can calm you, make you hungry, or want to run a marathon. Through the exploration of your style via home tour or photographs, we will find colors that make your home feel cohesive and authentic.
Color consulting
Handpicked colors chosen to aesthetically enhance your spaces. We also offer exterior color consulting; we chose colors based on your personal style and the history/style of your home. You receive color swatches and a list of suggested products and paint sheens.
Project consulting
For both residential and commercial spaces, this is for the person and/or business who wants to polish the look of their space. This is a top-to-bottom service: every element is considered from hardware to fabric coverings. Topics include (but not limited to) lighting placement, furniture placement, color, and cohesive design concepts. This service is great for office spaces, home staging, and renovation projects.
Virtual consulting
Get that Spruce experience wherever you are. Just like the in-person experience, we use Skype/Facetime and email to swap images and ideas about your style and color needs. You’ll fill out a questionnaire for us to get the ball rolling and we will present two color families/options for your space(s). Color swatches are mailed to you along with a list of suggested product and paint sheens.

You know a newly painted room is nothing unless it reflects your individuality. That’s what I’m here for: to help you hone in on your personal aesthetic one room at a time. Whether it’s a room refresh or a whole new house project, I give you a palette AND a fresh coat of paint that defines your style and that enhances the design of your home. You’re going to love how much your space comes to life.
I learned the craft of interior painting while I was also earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Masters of Art in Painting from Western Michigan University. Then I got my textile fix at Cranbrook Academy of Art, earning a Master of Fine Arts in Fiber. In between sessions I came back to painting houses whenever I had a chance - it was pretty obvious that I was smitten with home improvement.
I look at home projects just like a work of art: there are multiple layers to a painting to give it dimension, and the same goes for those rooms that just feel “right.” I think that’s what makes Spruce Interiors different: we are more than just a painting business. We see every layer of a room as an integral part to the masterpiece.
